Does content really bring opportunities? That’s a question I’ve heard often, especially when it comes to my live show. After 4 years going live weekly I can tell you that showing up consistently live on LinkedIn has in fact made me (and people around me!) real money. What people don’t see is an inbox flooded with speaking opportunities, workshops and more! I’ve seen the opportunities and connections made from this show spread to audience members, guests and even my producer, Shelby Merryweather.
As a live stream producer for multiple shows now, Shelby joined us to share a few tried and true tips for going live using Streamyard, the tool we use to broadcast. We talked about how to use overlays to start the stream easily and to hide your awkward face if you need to problem solve on the fly. She shared how she’s helped teams get more comfortable with the process of live streaming and how you can practice if you’re not prepared to hit that “go live” button just yet. We also discussed her favorite features in Streamyard and how you can now mark portions of the conversation you enjoy while live.
Shelby opened up about the most common roadblocks are not preparing far enough in advance to promote the conversation, being discouraged by the first episode and not staying consistent. Like any social media strategy it does take some dedication but live streaming and podcasting can be an easy way to stay connected with others online. I’ve seen it work wonders in my business and I hope it’ll do the same for yours!
