She’s the author of not one but TWO best selling books, a mom, a University of Florida alum (like me!) and the CEO of Beaumonte Etiquette. She’s reguarly featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show, Daily Mail and she’s the Plaza Hotel’s official partner! Seriously when does she sleep?
Quick tips – how to hold a coffee cup and the “b” for bread trick (10:00)!
In places that have opened back up since the lock down Myka taught us the polite contact-less way to greet someone. Spoiler alert it’s NOT the elbow bump. She teaches us the “Stop, Drop and Nod” technique. Stop 6 feet away and drop your hands behind your back (taking away the option for a handshake) OR grasp your hands with nod a greeting of hello. BRILLIANT.
With health protocols ever-changing having outside support on what’s appropriate and what’s not is needed. Myka and her team are digging into this work and training groups from small start ups to Fortune 500 companies. If you are a sales person you NEED to bring Myka in. Beaumont Training Groups are a great way for your team to stay professional and on the same page in these stressful times.
You need to add Myka’s books to your reading list! She’s written Modern Etiquette Made Easy and Business Etiquette Made Easy. These reads give you a leg up at formal dinners or important meetings helping you feel confident in your etiquette and educated on how to be respectful. Side note: I got a text from both my mom and my dad after this coffee session saying they purchased her books immediately! #ParentApproved
My biggest question was how to say no gracefully (you’ll have to listen in to her expert answer on how to navigate this!). Myka’s also discusses how to avoid the word “but” and staying assertive and confident by using your voice. HOW you say things matters more than what you say.
The good news from this pandemic? We can now take Myka’s classes online! Here’s a list of her courses. She even has classes for kids and teens! With no camps and school schedules unknown it’s a perfect time to teach them something they’re not going to learn from their formal education!

What we should all try this week: Practice formal dining! We’re all stuck at home and losing our dining skills so here’s a link to Myka’s Youtube Table Manners video. It’s only ten minutes and definitely worth brushing up on. When we’re back at a restaurant we won’t think twice about what fork to use.
Stay on top of your etiquette by following Myka on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Youtube.
I can’t wait to see you next week. If you have any requests, wishes or types of learning you’d like to do on Coffee with Kim email, text or message me suggestions!
