Need just a few more hours in the day? I think we all do. This week we chatted with Brad Aeon—a bona fide Ph.D. in time management, not just another productivity “guru” from your social feed. Brad broke down how we can squeeze a little more out of every day, especially with AI pitching in.
Brad says it’s less about wrangling time and more about handling all the information we constantly have to remember—tasks, birthdays, emails, projects, you name it. His tip: stop treating your brain like a storage closet. Offload what you can! Write things down, use tools like Notion or even good old-fashioned lists, and don’t be shy about voice-dumping your to-dos into AI while brushing your teeth. ChatGPT is great at prioritizing and keeping track of things for you.
Use AI as your own thinking partner, not just an email writer or text summarizer. Brad suggests telling ChatGPT all about yourself and your plans for the week, then asking it for help with your schedule or even pep talks for hard things ahead. Want a wild upgrade? He actually uses AI to generate customized, James Dean–narrated motivational audio for himself. Now, that’s something I hadn’t heard before!
Last, but oh-so-useful: when you are asked to participate in something (help those puppies at the shelter or be class room mom), create an AI chat where you share your values and goals and then ask your AI: Does this fit with what matters most to me right now? Have ChatGPT remind you of your big-picture goals—you might find it’s a lot easier to say “not this time” and actually mean it.
So, whether you need a better calendar system or just want Burt Reynolds to talk you through your backlog (seriously), Brad’s advice reminded us that a little help—and a little more honesty—can go a long way. If you’re ready to make your time work for you, why not let tech shoulder its fair share? Your overtaxed brain will thank you!
