A quick show today SOLO! Going over some new business must-haves and recommendations I’ve gotten this month. But first off a quick note about our Veteran’s since today is Veteran’s Day in the United States.
No matter where you’re from I hope you celebrate your Veteran’s. The job they do is often hard physically and emotionally so I wanted to take a quick moment to list some of my favorite organization’s that support our Veteran’s here in the U.S.:
3.) Semper Fi Fund
I also wanted to add a link to Charity Navigator which can help you navigate which charity’s are “legit”. I know we’ve all heard horror stories about charity scams!
I love this 3-2-1 format. It goes something like this…3 things that have been recommended to me in the past month, 2 things that are my current favorites and 1 quote I love (played on repeat in my head this week!)
Superhuman – I’m going to be honest I’m not sure if this is an app, chrome add-on, or website But I’ve gotten SO many emails lately with “sent by Superhuman” at the bottom of the email. What is this and do I need it in my life? It’s supposed to make emailing 10x faster, so I’m all about that! I have an introduction with them later this week – stay tuned!
The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek – I posted on LinkedIn asking what should be my next read and this was the overwhelming answer! Excited to read and report back to you.
Brene Brown’s Unlocking Us and Dare To Lead podcasts! I love all things Brene Brown so I’m definitely going to dive into these. Jenn recommended this episode as a good place to start.
The Practice by Seth Godin. He’s witty, smart and straight to the point. I think of him as the Larry David of marketing.
Threads on Instagram. Most Instagram stories are watched on mute. To battle that, this app captions your stories! Brilliant! You don’t have to write or caption anything.
“Be Brave. Take the Hill. But answer the question, “What is my hill?”
– Matthew McConaughey (from his new book Greenlights)
It seems pretty straight forward but that second part “What is my hill”? I’ve been thinking about it all week.
Homework: Answer the question, “What is my hill”? What is your “thing” in life? What are you here for? What are you wanting to do that you haven’t done? YOU need to answer this, not your coworkers, or your mom, or your pet goldfish. YOU.
In theme with today being Veteran’s Day, I’m excited to announce next week’s guest Michelle Penczak. She’s a military spouse who founded Squared Away. This company is amazing!
They’re a team of executive assistants and they’ve ALWAYS been completely remote. Michelle knew military spouses have a hard time finding jobs having to move around so frequently so she created this company consisting of mostly military spouses.
From Poland to Japan and almost every state in the US they’ve been rocking the work from home life for 3 years now.
