Creating content on LinkedIn is the first step. The next, one that’s really the goal? Converting contacts into clients! Salina Yeung joined us live to talk through some strategies she’s used to help content creators start building real clients relationships online. We talked about why the audience is different on LinkedIn vs other platforms and why LinkedIn is the place you want to be if you’re looking for really brilliant people to add to your network and start working with (or for!).
Salina shared how to create content people want to consume by telling your story in a way that’s professional but interesting. We talked about what and how to create on the days your energy is low and how to repurpose your content in a way that’s tactful. I got on my soap box a bit when we started to talk about reposting other creators content. Long story short, would you ever hand someone an article at a restaurant without saying a word? Of course not! You’re going to tell them why it’s worth their time to read and you’re going to give them a bit of a heads up on what to expect, the same is true for reposting on LinkedIn!
We talked about a few ways to stand out and the hard truth about the ever changing LinkedIn algorithm. Building relationships online with followers that turn into real dollar bills takes time and trust but it does happen. So many of my “real life” friends have come from the platform! If you’re nervous about creating content on LinkedIn or maybe you’ve been spinning your wheels on other platforms like Instagram or Facebook this is a great episode to listen to! Let us know what you think and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to drop them in the chat!
