Welcome to 2023, CWK Community! We’re kicking off the year with a guide on accomplishing goals with Kristina Paider. The screenwriter dished on how to with a tutorial on bringing big screen ‘main character energy’ to your real life. Whether you’re claiming “new year, new me”, or just want to improve the current version of yourself, her tips will help you get there! Keep reading to learn Kristina’s process on making supercharged goals a part of your great story.
My favorite part of Kristina’s method is putting yourself at the center of your own greatest story. She explained that you can’t have a movie without a main character, a goal, and obstacles.
Step one in becoming a main character is reviewing a past goal. From there, break down your character DNA, aka your strengths, flawsomeness, and superpowers. Lastly, taking note of what you did to accomplish your goals and the allies that helped you cross the finish line.
For example, last year I set out to execute two-day workshops. My strengths and superpowers were covering a topic I was heavily integrated into, and previous experience with workshops and public speaking. My allies were the websites I used to research information and team that helped make it happen.
(P.S. We also broke down my goal to grow a large vegetable last year – which I chronicled on Instagram.)
“Reviewing the components of your story will help you determine what should stay and what should go as you move forward. It will then be easier to set trackable and actionable goals, evaluate and share them with others, and create an accountability system to keep you on course,” Kristina shared.
Knowing your strengths and superpowers make all the difference when goal setting. Here’s how to differentiate between the two: Strengths are what you’re good to great at. Superpowers are what you’re great to exceptional at.
Kristina and I agreed 2023 may demand you flex different strengths than you did in 2022. She says that’s why it’s important to be the active protagonist in your own story. You can only do that by knowing yourself well, maximizing the strategies that work, and eliminating what doesn’t. Reflecting on experiences and tracking patterns helps determine how to show up in the different “acts” of your life.
If you’re thinking, ‘Kim, I know what I want but how can I get it faster?’, you’re not alone.
Kristina says to use these tools as a shortcut to achieve your goals:
“When we dig into each element we find out how to manage them. Like identifying allies who helped us achieve specific milestones or neutralize the antagonists in our story. Getting familiar with what worked and what didn’t will you get to the finish line faster,” she explained.
If we’re honest, sometimes getting started can be the hardest part of working toward a goal. Kristina’s free goal-setting course is the perfect way to kickstart your journey.
Finding a rhythm to stay on track is also key. Personally, I calendar block time for goal setting and achievement weekly. Kristina is partial to the Pomodoro method when working on her goals. Whatever you choose, be sure it makes remaining consistent easy – and fun!

We’re all for copying someone’s else homework on CWK. This rule applies when it comes to achieving goals as well. It’s easy to find inspiration from those who have already “made it”, the key is avoiding their mistakes and keeping what they got right.
Kristina adds that you don’t have to recreate their path. “There’s no one size fits all when it comes to accomplishing goals. Find yourself in their story and specifically note in what ways they are your mentor. Is it their attitude, their background, their personality, maybe? Study and observe their choices and glean from what works for you.”
